What is the difference between Telekom VDSL and Glasfaser?

VDSL uses copper telephone lines for the final connection to your home, limiting speeds to around 250 Mbps with low upload. Glasfaser (FTTH) runs fiber directly to your home, enabling speeds up to 1 Gbps or more with significantly higher upload speeds.

Why is my Telekom upload speed lower than download?

On VDSL connections, upload bandwidth is intentionally limited — typically 10–50 Mbps. Glasfaser (fiber) connections offer much higher upload speeds, often 50% of the download speed or more depending on the plan.
