Why is my gigabit fiber speed test showing only 300–400 Mbps?

This is almost always a WiFi limitation. Even WiFi 5 (802.11ac) with a good signal rarely exceeds 400 Mbps in real-world conditions due to overhead and interference. Connect your test device via a gigabit ethernet cable directly to the router to get your true fiber speed. If it's still slow via ethernet, check that your network card is gigabit-capable.

What is the difference between fiber and cable internet?
