Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
NetSpeedLite.com ("we", "the site") provides a free internet speed test. This policy explains what information is handled when you use the site.
Information you give us
The speed test requires no account and no sign-up. We do not ask for your name, email address or any personal details to run a test. If you contact us by email, we receive the email address and message you send, and use it only to reply.
Information collected automatically
- Test results - when you run a test, your download/upload speed and latency are measured in your browser. Speed tests are performed using M-Lab's NDT7 protocol. M-Lab is a third-party, open research platform: test measurements (including your IP address, which is required to route the test) are processed by M-Lab servers and are collected and published by M-Lab as open, public-domain data, including your public IP address, and M-Lab keeps this data indefinitely. We do not control M-Lab data. If M-Lab cannot be reached, the test falls back to the Cloudflare speed test (speed.cloudflare.com); in that case your browser contacts Cloudflare instead, the Cloudflare privacy policy applies, and the result is approximate. See M-Lab's privacy policy.
- Basic technical data - like most websites, our servers may log standard request data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and troubleshooting.
Cookies and local storage
The site uses your browser's local storage to remember preferences such as your dark/light theme choice. This stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not require registration or track you across other websites.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
