Why can't I get full speed on my Google Fiber 5 Gig plan?

Most computers and routers have standard 1 Gbps ethernet ports, which cap your speed test at ~940 Mbps regardless of your plan. You need multi-gig (2.5G/5G/10G) network hardware on both your device and router to test above 1 Gbps.

Is Google Fiber available everywhere in the US?

No, Google Fiber is only available in select cities across the United States. Check availability at fiber.google.com using your address.
